Analogue Photography in the spotlight
The natural beauty of Barrydale creates the perfect setting for photography enthusiasts to explore new possibilities and we are again anticipating that some of the country's best lensmen to showcase their work over the next few weeks when the Barrydale Analog Photo Festival gets underway on 8 December.
Now in its fourth year, the Barrydale Analog Photo Festival celebrates what this village is all about.
It is a place where leisure takes priority over speed. Where long walks and the replenishing of creative juices becomes a way of life. Here old fashioned remains in style and whether it is the art of hand weaving or dinner prepared on an AGA stove, there is a real drive to preserve arts that are often forgotten in the modern world.
During this festival, digital photography is only used to record the highlights of artists who continue to produce spectacular work in a medium that is fast regaining popularity.
We are proud to be part of this resurgence and we can only laud the work organiser Graham Abbott who is inspiring a new generation of analogue photographers.
It is an absolute highlight on the Barrydale calendar and we hope that you come and experience how these craftsmen go about recording moments in time - the traditional way.
